"Shengshi Collection" free treasure experts explain the cultural knowledge on the spot.
The 2021 "Shengshi Collection" free cultural relics appraisal activity ushered in the sixth event of the year at the Shenzhen Cultural Heritage Protection Center on the afternoon of October 20th. The event was jointly organized by Shenzhen Cultural Heritage Protection Center (Shenzhen Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology), Shenzhen Publishing Group Co., Ltd. Asset Operation Branch, Shenzhen Business Daily "Cultural Square" and Shenzhen Collection Association.
The theme of this activity is ceramics and miscellaneous things. Guo Xuelei, a miscellaneous expert and deputy director of Shenzhen Museum, and Tamia Liu, a ceramic expert and former researcher of Shenzhen Cultural Relics Management Office, were invited to treasure for Tibetan friends and explain the cultural relics knowledge on the spot.
At the event site, Mr. Ma, a senior Tibetan friend, brought a group of five treasures of porcelain. It was identified as Xibayao porcelain in Southern Song Dynasty, with complete shape and Gu Zhuo glaze color.
Tamia Liu, an expert on cultural relics, said that according to textual research, Xiba Kiln started in the late Tang and Five Dynasties, flourished in the Song Dynasty and declined in the late Ming Dynasty, which is the largest group of ancient kiln sites found in southwest China so far. Guo Xuelei, a cultural relic expert, also said that Xiba Kiln, as a wonderful work of black glazed porcelain in Sichuan, has made indelible contributions to the inheritance of history and the promotion of culture, which has filled the situation that there is no large-scale black glazed porcelain in the southwest of China’s ancient ceramic history.
At the appraisal site, in addition to this group of Xibayao porcelain in the Southern Song Dynasty, Tibetan friend Mr. Zhang’s "Qingganlong Guangcai Opening Character Plate" and Tibetan friend Luo Sheng’s "Qingganlong Landscape Character Blue and White Finger Banzhi" have also been affirmed and loved by many Tibetan friends and experts.
